"Wear my hat" is another song by Mac Miller off of his Best Day Ever mixtape. This is also a lyric song in which he uses many poetic devices. The three i will be discusing is Similie, Metaphor, and Idiom.
First in Stanza 3 line 6 he says "shining like my high beams". This is a similie because he compare her to his highbeams using th word "like. However he doesn't actually mean that the girl is shinging but he mans that she beautiful and radiant much like his high beams, This gives the girl a scence of beauty in the fact that she "glows" with beauty
Second in , stanza 6 line 8 he say "thinkin that they players, but im coaching call me popovich. this is a metaphor because he compares himself to a basketball coach. when he say this he doesn't literally mean that the guys think they're literal player, like of a sport for instance. And he also refers to him self a coach (popovich) but he doesn't literally mean that either. what hes saying is that if these guy are players he "coached them" and taught them how to be the players they are. By saying this it gives him a sence of confidence or makes him seem better that other guys.
Last, in stanza 3 line 4 he says "baby your my prize". This is an idiom because he doesn't literaly that she is a prize that he eared or won in anyway, but that he is glad to have her as one would be glad have a prize, such as a trophy.
