"Best Day Ever" is a lyric song in which Mac Miller uses many poetic devices. The three i'll be discussing are similie, Idiom, and Illusion.
First, in stanza 2 line 2 he uses a similie. it say "laughing like a child" I think he says this because children tend to be happy and often laugh. By saying this this he gives the song a sence of joy and happiness by saing that he'll be laughing like a child.
Second, in stanza 1 line 2 he say " work around the clock". This is an idiom because he doesn't literally work around the clock, but he works really gard over long periods of time. This enhances the song by showing the listener how hard he works.
Third, in stanza 1 line 19
he says "it's all disney boy , my family proud". This is a poetry term known as allusion, he alludes to the disnet channel telivision show "proud family" this was a clever way of telling the listener that his family is proud of him.
In conclusion, maca liller uses a lot of poetry terms to enhance his music.
